Brokenness.
So I busted the lid of my slow cooker tonight.
I was putting a dish away with the shelf pulled out and another dish fell behind down onto the crock pot lid, shattering it.
Glass was in the cupboard and splattered around the floor and I couldn’t help but think, “this stinks” & a few other thoughts that were definitely rated PG-13.
Then I quickly snapped out of it and realized if a broken lid is the worst of my worries today, life isn’t so bad at all.
The topic at MOPS this morning was adoption, which as you all know is a topic so near and dear to my heart. I left encouraged and even more inspired to continue praying for what another adoption would look like in our family someday.
Our unique adoption story is beautiful, but it starts with some tough brokenness.
Jesus heals brokenness.
With that I’d like to suggest some things we can all pray for when we’re feeling like our circumstances stink, even though we know they really don’t in comparison.
*Pray for the people considering adoption. Both sides. It’s not easy to place a child, or have a child placed, in a possible adoption situation. Opening a home and the logistics can also be tough. Pray.
*Pray for smooth transitions for the children, and the parents. It’s never easy, but our prayers and support can help.
*Pray for clear communication.
*Pray for the case workers handling foster care, and adoptions.
*Pray for bonds to be formed.
*Pray for deep love. Both sides, all around, far and wide.
*Pray for the marriages of the people considering adopting. Satan will try to work his way in to destroy whatever good he can.
Don’t let him.
Don’t let him destroy you or squash your dreams.
You are loved. You are loved. You are loved.
