Hello Friends!
I have been trying to post here on the blog weekly. Tuesdays seem to be working well for this fall. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram a little more often.
Sometimes you will see repurposed content that was shared my other channels but tweaked for this space, sometimes it will be brand-spankin’ new and fresh. There are certain things I like to post here to refer back to later. Yes, I search my own blog! Like when I make my Pumpkin Dump Cake for Friendsgiving. Mmmm, that’s a good one!
I have a quick recipe of sorts to share with you today to make a yummy pumpkin-flavored coffee drink.
I didn’t really measure anything here, which is pretty typical of how I roll in the kitchen. So much of the nourishment we get through food is by taste anyway, yes?
This was really just an experiment of heavy whipping cream, pumpkin puree, and cinnamon. It did best in the blender, only taking about 30 seconds, rather than hand mixing which takes several minutes.
My body doesn’t really crave sugar often anymore unless I give it a bit, and all of a sudden that’s all it wants, dang it! Those seasonal Reeses I posted about last week, yeah, those totally do me in.
By the way, the coffee mug winner was announced and after doing a little peek at the winner’s Facebook page I sent her THIS “Awesome Mom” mug.
Back to the pumpkin coffee, if you haven’t kicked sugar yet you may want to add a little something to sweeten this. Regular sugar, maple syrup, that kind of thing.
I’ll modify this a little more next time, possibly with coconut milk as the boys and I don’t tolerate dairy exceptionally well (even if we straight up LOVE it).
I made this for the whole house and had leftover cream. It whips up bigger than you think it will, so keep that in mind!
Ingredients:
A Cup of Hot Brewed Black Coffee for Each Person
16 oz Heavy Whipping Cream
1/2 Can of Pumpkin Puree (not pie filling)
Several Shakes of Cinnamon
Sweetener if you choose.
Add everything except the coffee to the blender. Once whipped into a cream scoop over a cup of hot coffee.

How are you doing lately, friends? I really want to know! You can always reach me at my inbox aslightlybetterwife@gmail.com I treasure the conversations I have been having with some of you there.
We’ve been well. Life seems to be getting busier again, and through months of having a slow pace I’ve learned that I truly appreciate the slow seasons, less calendar clutter, and hours on end of just being with my family without any agenda dictating what we should be doing next. It’s been lovely. Yes, there have been plenty of things to dislike about what is going on in the world, but I have been careful to curate a space of peace for this sweet family of mine and we are all happy.
