As we embark on the new year there are so many things I’m LOOKING FORWARD to, like meeting this babe that is growing in my womb, trips with family, intentional homeschooling and homemaking, getting to know our neighbors better, enjoying our community, and more.
Right now, with an ice storm warning in the forecast, I long for warm days spent on the deck with a plain black iced tea and an audiobook.
The everyday ordinary stuff can be so good.
I have lofty goals of paying off a big loan we had to take out to help restore my health from toxic burden in late 2020.
Financial stability is my prayer for myself, and each of you.
What are your thoughts as we start this new year?
If we were able to do it all I’d add new windows, a back deck, and new kitchen counters to the list too. In the waiting, I’m content with (and grateful for) what we have.
I could make a dozen resolutions, but I learned in 2022 that while intention is important and goals are great, life will happen regardless of our hopes, dreams, and intentions.
Sometimes our dreams align with God’s will, and sometimes they don’t.
What a rude reality, really. Yet I know, He doesn’t waste our pain. I believe He works for our good, and His glory. His kingdom will be furthered through it all.
So, my only real resolutions are to stay close to Jesus and be sure my people know how loved they are.
I’ll keep looking forward to the daily mundane, because it’s all a blessing we GET TO experience.
