Want to know something? A very real reason I love being a wife is because it is so incredible to watch another human so closely and cheer them on as they chase their passions.
It’s as much about me, as it is about HIM.
Since I was 18 years old I have had the safety of having “my person”. It’s really all I’ve known in my adult life.
Being a wife and homemaker makes my heart happy. I don’t believe that being a wife is not the greatest role on Earth, because I believe God equips all of us for different seasons of life, and a woman who is not yet a wife, or never desires to become a wife, is not serving a greater or lesser role than I.
I’m just saying being a wife is something that I have a deep adoration for.
Husbands and wives are warriors on the battlefield, really. Satan tries to destroy marriages and tear apart whole entire families. If we want our marriages to be something that glorifies God we have to cling to Jesus and follow the teachings of the Bible.
Making a healthy marriage last requires selflessness and a desire to keep serving the Lord through loving your spouse, even on the days (and weeks) that you don’t feel like serving the person you said “I do” to.
Watching what sets your spouse on fire, builds their confidence, and puts a smile on their face is genuinely satisfying. It’s a joy like no other.
Truly take time to get to know the person you are sharing your life with.
I’m dedicated to helping women find peace and happiness with their husbands.
I started this blog over a decade ago to document my journey as a wife, and here I am still learning and sharing. Oh boy am I still learning!
Every marriage has tough seasons, there is no way around it. Equip yourself, be a warrior who is armed with the Word of God and tools in your toolbox.
Today felt like the right time to share these words, and surely I will have more to say on this topic, so check back here again soon.
What’s one thing about marriage or relationships that you wish people knew, or maybe advice you WISH you had gotten early in your marriage?
