It’s okay to mix old and new.
It’s okay to wear fancy shoes and till the garden (or very occasionally help and pose like you did such an incredible job).
It’s okay to wear blue jeans when you more than likely should’ve worn a skirt.
It’s okay to bicker for 2 days with your husband over wanting a new kitchen island, only to decide you actually do want to keep your old one exactly how it is.
It’s okay to show up early sometimes, or a few minutes late. And it’s definitely okay to blow the whole thing off every once in awhile.
When I was a little girl I walked to the beach with a friend to ‘just look’. We only lived a couple of blocks away and I knew I wasn’t to go in the water; mom’s rules. I decided to just dip my toes in a bit. Before I knew it I was giggling, soaking wet, and drenched in stinky lake water with no good excuse, other than I couldn’t balance between just looking, and wading out too far.
It’s okay.
It’s okay when we have moments of total chaos and feel like we don’t have it all together or things aren’t matching up just a perfectly as the social media world would make us believe it should.
It’s okay to not have perfectly put together outfits everyday.
It’s okay if your house is spotless one day and in desperate need of a cleaning crew the next.
We don’t have to live these perfectly balanced lives.
It would seem ideal if we did though, wouldn’t it?
I believe we should work towards balance, but it’s okay if we don’t achieve it in every area every single day.
Give yourself grace, give your family grace, give your friends grace. No one is achieving perfect balance 100% of the time.
