Hey Friends!
Did you get an Instant Pot for Christmas? By FAR my most viewed blog post last year, with over 2,000+ more views than any other post, was this one that was actually from the year before, where I explained how to make frozen brussels sprouts in the Instant Pot.
Apparently, you all like quick and easy meal options too! *High Five*
Christmas of 2018 Mr. Awesome kindly gifted me with the 3 qt Instant Pot that he knew I had my eyes on. I thought it might be unnecessary since I already owned the 6qt and 8qt, but I tell you what, this little 3 quart is MIGHTY HELPFUL!
First off, I cook rice in it all.the.time. (1:1 ratio of rice and water, set on manual 3 minutes). I cannot make rice on the stove very well, and it always took me 40 minutes or more. The Instant Pot has saved me so much time in this area! Plus, if I forget it, no big deal! It’s fine to stay as it is since the pot automatically switches to “keep warm” when it’s done cooking. Praise the person that invented THAT feature!
I toss frozen veggies in it as a side to whatever is in the oven or on the grill, and I sometimes use it as a little slow cooker too.
The thing I love the most about it is that I can put my food in, and go do other things, or prep other foods without having to watch it so closely.
I’ve been proudly using an Instant Pot since the summer of 2016 and I don’t think I’ll ever be without one!
To give you a size comparison I took a late-night picture of the three that I own side by side.
My 6qt was my first one and is still the most used. I pull out my 8qt for big batches of soup, larger cuts of meat, and when we have company. For reference, we’re a family of 6.
I’d love to hear if you also use a little 3 quart like I do? If not, is it on your wishlist?
