
If your identity is too deeply intertwined with what you physically do, and then your physical body fails you so you can no longer do those things (even temporarily), it can be easy to lose yourself and head down a path of mental destruction.
It’s fine to appreciate yourself for what you are able to do. I think it’s good to actively work to become a better version of yourself.
I’ve learned to not grip anything too tightly, other than my salvation in Christ.
Put in the work training your heart and mind today, in case tomorrow brings you trouble. Prepare.
