My 9 year old loves writing scripture and posting it around the house, he always has. This year we incorporated it into our school work using Teach Your Child to Read, Write and Spell: 100 Easy Bible Verses.
I often have the two older kids create some type of art out of their memory verse for the week. It can be anything they wish, using any materials they can find.
For a long time now there has been a piece of pink construction paper Bible art that my boy made, and taped to his little sister’s wall. Written on it is 1 Corinthians 2:9. He wrote it using various colors of marker when he was much younger. There were scribble marks all over it from mistakes he made, while trying his best to copy the words from his book. I let him hang it anyway. It was precious.
The paper was completely tattered from being loved on, and recently it had begun to get covered in random stickers, because it’s hung down at a 4 year old’s eye level.
I hesitantly took it down, and designed a new one to hang in the same place, using the same verse he dedicated to his sister.
I’d like to encourage you to hang scripture around your home, too. I love to write bible verses on note cards and tuck them in my husband’s lunch. I tape them to the bathroom mirrors, on the exterior doors, on the kitchen cabinets, anywhere, really! I read them out loud when I see them. The kids follow this same practice.
If you’d like your own copy of this art I designed, you can click below and print one for yourself.
In our youngest daughter’s bedroom I hung it down at her level, where she can ask us over and over again what it says, and we can speak it to her every single time until she can read it or say it on her own.

You could also use this as a screensaver or background on your phone or computer!
Sidenote: If printing with massive amounts of colored ink scares you, you need to sign up for the HP Instant Ink program! You can read about that over here.
