Proverbs 13:20 reminds us of our need to be mindful of the community we create for ourselves.
Finding a tribe who is somewhat like me, but also can speak life to me, even when that means I have to hear the hard things is so valuable.
Flattery is fun, but not always productive in every situation. Bummer, huh?
We must let our friends speak both the good and the hard things, and then discern what it is the Lord wants us to hear or learn from each conversation.
Note: Even though it is hard for us to hear the tough stuff, we have to remember it can be hard for our friends to say the tough stuff and ask the challenging questions too.
Be friends with those who are wise, and you will become wise. Choose fools to be your friends, and you will have trouble.
Proverbs 13:20 ERV
But encourage each other every day, while you still have something called “today.” Help each other so that none of you will be fooled by sin and become too hard to change.
Hebrews 3:13 ERV
Random picture, because that’s what the algorithm likes. ASB Life= A Slightly Better Life, one we get to create.
Even if it feels like it at times, you aren’t held back or tied down. Sin has no hold on me, and no hold on you. You GET TO walk in freedom, friends.
