You know how when you find something new you almost feel like you invented it, and you want to shout to the world about it? That’s how I felt when I discovered Lock Laces! I couldn’t contain my excitement, so I made a quick Facebook post about them. Here’s what it said:
“You guys, these are a game changer. Not even kidding! I get that they’d be super helpful for kids, but honestly, I put them in my shoes and they ROCK! No shame in my game, many runners reviewed that they love them too (not that I’ll actually be doing any running for a few more months). I’ll do a full post on them over on the blog this week, but for now, go check them out on Amazon and admire the variety of colors (they come in single, double, and triple packs)…
Shout out to Sarah, a friend of a friend here on Facebook, who suggested these.
PS. Mr. Awesome is sportin’ a pair in his Nike shoes too!”
As a mom, I have kept each of my kids in Velcro shoes and zippered boots for as long as possible. At a certain point though they reach an age where laced tennis shoes are about the only affordable option (when you’re a clearance shopper like myself).
Enter LOCK LACES!
What are they?
You can think of them as an elastic or bungee type of shoe lace, which locks in place so you don’t have to re-tie each time you put your shoes on.
Who are these good for? Here’s the audience our family has brainstormed that these would be helpful for:
- Runners
- Children
- Pregnant Women (dads-to-be, get your lady a set of these)
- Men (Men’s shoe laces are often really long and sloppy looking. These can help dress up a pair of men’s shoes)
- Grandparents
- Anyone with limited mobility or time
The bottom line: Anyone who wears shoes with laces.
They are super easy to install, and to adjust. I suggest when you cut them, to leave them slightly longer than you think you’ll need; you can always reopen the end with a flat head screwdriver and cut off more later.
They come in a variety of colors. You can try to match your shoe or current laces. You could also be super fun and add a POP of color to your shoes by picking a totally different color of laces. If they had rainbow laces, I know my teenager would be all over them!
As a pregnant momma in my third trimester, these save me SO MUCH TIME right now. But honestly, as a mom-on-the-go, I’ve needed something like this for a long time.
This is not a sponsored post, I’m just so glad to have this product in my life, that I wanted to share my excitement with all of you! Maybe these could help free up a little time in your routine like they have for me.
Did you know?
Often people with Dyslexia have trouble tying their shoes. That’s a little tidbit Mr. Awesome and I learned at a Dyslexia Conference we attended a couple years ago. It’s funny because he has always tied his shoes quickly and if his laces came undone on the go he’d shove his laces down the side of his shoe. We didn’t know he had dyslexia until he was an adult. Our oldest daughter was diagnosed in elementary school, and tying laces was a real struggle with her in her early years. Thankfully she had a friend teach her his tricks, but her laces still didn’t get tied well until she became older. These would’ve saved so much embarrassment and time for both of them!
