16 Ways to Invest in Your Marriage, For Husbands

::This one is for the Husbands::

**16 Ways to Invest in Your Marriage**

Husbands, marriage is a team effort, and just like any successful partnership, it requires dedication and work. Here are some ways to strengthen your bond with your wife and build a happy, fulfilling life together:

**Prioritize Your Marriage**

1. **Make Time for Each Other:**
Balance your professional life with quality time for your wife. Plan date nights, take walks together, or simply have conversations to connect.

2. **Show Appreciation:**
Express your love verbally and through actions. Tell your wife how much you appreciate her, compliment her, and do thoughtful gestures.

**Build Trust and Respect**

3. **Maintain Emotional Honesty:**
Avoid flirting or behaviors that could be seen as disrespectful. Open communication and honesty are key.

4. **Be a Supportive Partner:**
Always be there for your wife. Be available. Listen to her concerns, and offer support in her endeavors.

5. **Financial Transparency:**
Discuss finances openly and involve your wife in financial decisions.

**Nurture Intimacy**

6. **Keep the Romance Alive:**
Plan romantic evenings or afternoons, surprise her with small thoughtful gifts, and maintain physical intimacy.

7. **Focus on Shared Passions:**
Find activities you both enjoy doing together, whether it’s traveling, cooking, or pursuing hobbies.

**Strong Family Unit**

8. **Be an Active Parent:**
Share parenting responsibilities equally. Participate in your children’s lives, from playtime to discipline. Be a united front, never make her a ‘bad guy’ in front of your children.

9. **Lead by Example:**
Live according to your values you’ve determined as a family and set a positive example for your children.

10. **Plan for the Future:**
Discuss long-term goals, finances, and estate planning to avoid future conflicts.

**Healthy Communication**

11. **Listen Actively:**
Put down the phone, or whatever you’re doing and pay attention to your wife’s feelings and concerns. Validate her emotions and avoid interrupting.

12. **Be Open to Feedback:**
Be willing to learn and grow together. Don’t take offense to constructive criticism. Really, she wants you to be better, so listen with an open mind to the advice she gives.

13. **Communicate Respectfully:**
Even during disagreements, avoid name-calling, blame games, or hurtful words. Be kind!

**Stronger Together**

14. **Embrace Teamwork:**
Approach challenges as a team. Support each other’s dreams and work towards shared goals.

15. **Seek Guidance When Needed:**
If you face difficulties, don’t hesitate to seek professional help from a marriage counselor, pastor, or trusted mentor. This is not the same as venting to your friends- don’t do that.

16. **Maintain Healthy Boundaries:**
When it comes to involving your extended family and your friends, respectfully limit the influence of others on your marriage. Leave and cleave. Be bound together as one.

**Please Remember:**

A happy marriage takes work, but the rewards are immeasurable. By prioritizing your wife, acting with respect, and building a strong foundation of trust and communication, you can create a lasting and fulfilling relationship.

I don’t want you to look back with regret and see what you could’ve done after it’s too late and someone else is listening attentively to your wife, nurturing her, and helping raise your kids.

Marriage is worth the work.

The friendship you get from a strong marriage, the love of raising a family, is so good. It’s unlike any other relationship on this earth. It’s the sweetest thing.

Hey Friend! I am truly so glad that you’re here today!

At A Slightly Better Wife, I share about faith, homemaking, homeschooling, and marriage—along with my passion for creating a non-toxic, intentional home. Life isn’t about perfection, but I believe in making small, meaningful choices each day to do things slightly better than before.

My love for simple living and homemaking was deeply shaped by my grandparents. I have the best childhood memories of being in the kitchen with my Grandma Edna, learning the beauty of home-cooked meals and a well-tended home. My Grandpa Link’s storytelling and wisdom instilled in me the value of faith, family, and slowing down to listen during the little moments that make life rich. Their influence is woven into who I am today and I’m so grateful for that.

I’m a wife, a momma of 5, and a homemaker at heart. My husband and I met young, just days after my 18th birthday, and we quickly (like within a week) knew that forever was in our plans.

Together, we built our home on the edge of town, where we’re raising and homeschooling our children while embracing a simple, purposeful life in the city.

Here, you’ll find encouragement for your marriage, practical tips for homemaking, and inspiration to cultivate a home filled with faith and love. Whether you’re looking for a recipe, a fresh perspective, or just a place to feel understood, I hope you’ll stay awhile and explore.

Let’s pursue slightly better together!
