My husband mentioned how the toy aisles at Wal-Mart smell like plastic.
Our bodies know that is toxic, and we turn up our noses at it.
It made me think of where we had plastic lurking within our home. We had a kitchen drawer full of Ziploc containers. Sure enough, when I opened it, I noticed that plastic smell!
I sorted through and recycled almost all of them, keeping only two decent ones. In their place, I lined the drawer with little glass jelly jars I’d found on clearance. Now we use them for leftovers, snacks in the car, even water jars. They look so neat, are made in the USA, and best of all, no toxic smell.
It feels good to make small swaps that care for my family’s health. God has trusted me with this role, and I want to be intentional.
Psalm 20:4 (AMP):
“May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.”
(Update: my husband now uses stainless steel containers for his lunches too!)

Hooray! I got these(http://www.amazon.com/Pyrex-1072164-Storage-18-Piece-Round/dp/B000HAVOC6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1296788958&sr=8-3)for Christmas. I know how you feel, it was wonderful to clean out that plastic drawer!
If you ever see good sandwich containers at a decent price please share!!
I love pyrex for home, I still use a few rubbermaid containes for snacks in my little ones diaper bag, but might be able to find a suitable replacement.
I once packed my little guys snack in an old glass salsa container for in the car. It worked great…. Until I opened the door and it rolled out onto the street and shattered into a million pieces! 🙁
So I would now suggest little stainless steel containers. Amazon has some that are perfect snack size for little ones.
