Fall Favorites + September Giveaway.

Hey! We’re one week into fall, and I’m ready to share a list of my current favorites and offer a fun little a giveaway!

Favorite Mug: This medium weight ceramic mug featuring a bear I picked up from our local Shopko store a couple of years ago, well before they went out of business. They carried the best mugs! I have mugs that are far more attractive than this one, but this one keeps my coffee warm and fits my hand well. Sometimes it’s function over fashion, right? Do you have a favorite mug?

Favorite Scent: I’m pretty sure I will never get tired of Germ Fighter by Plant Therapy. I mostly use it in the diffuser, but also as a roller, and in the vacuum to freshen the air while I clean. It is the perfect warm fall scent, even though I diffuse it all year round for the health benefits. I keep a large roller in the house, a small roller in my purse, a large bottle in the house for diffusing, and a small bottle in the van for diffusing on the go. I also tried the kid-safe, version, germ destroyer, but I prefer the scent of the original.

Favorite Fall Candy: On a whim, I picked up these Reese’s Ghosts while on an all-day shopping trip with my guy. I needed to get my blood sugar up quickly, and I rarely pass up a new Reese’s. They are delicious. Like, I’d rate these as a number one in the top three candies I’ve ever tried. To be clear, aside from the Holy Spirit, I do not do ghosts. I am disgusted by scary things. I wish these were shaped like leaves instead (Reese’s brand, please take note). I know there are traditional Reese’s cups with the white coating, but they do not taste the same, the ratios are JUST RIGHT in this fall-themed goodness. Disclaimer: Sugar is addictive, peanut butter and chocolate are addictive. These are a treat and should be treated as such. Control yourself. Preaching to myself here sister, carry on for the giveaway…

I need to find the Reese’s Ghosts! My husband loves the white pumpkins so I’ll have to find these for him this fall. My favorite thing about fall is bringing in the harvest. I love being in the field, in my tractor everyday and taking in all of God’s creations.

We found some Reese’s Ghosts at Wal-Mart this weekend. One bag lasted three days. Ha! I’m not usually big on candy, but they really are THAT good! We did the grocery pick up there for the first time, and it was FOR SURE a game changer! They even had an option to buy socks with our groceries, which we needed. I love hearing about your farming experience.

Fall is my absolute favorite season! Everything from putting food up for the winter, the beautiful fall foliage in Maine, apple picking, all of it. Oh, maybe the return of candles – I don’t do candles in the summer, but they definitely make a comeback in the fall!!

You are right on! There are so many great things about fall and I love all that you mentioned. I have loved being more intentional about our winter food supply this year. There’s something about it that just brings me joy, even though it is work.

Fall is the perfect time for Sunday drives along the Mississippi, church dinners, and sweatshirts. I’m not too keen on Halloween, but I do enjoy the candy 🙂

I love that! Yes, I could do without Halloween. We do like to “Be the Light” and hand out treats in a super fun way. I hope we are able to still do that this year.

Hey Friend! I am truly so glad that you’re here today!

At A Slightly Better Wife, I share about faith, homemaking, homeschooling, and marriage—along with my passion for creating a non-toxic, intentional home. Life isn’t about perfection, but I believe in making small, meaningful choices each day to do things slightly better than before.

My love for simple living and homemaking was deeply shaped by my grandparents. I have the best childhood memories of being in the kitchen with my Grandma Edna, learning the beauty of home-cooked meals and a well-tended home. My Grandpa Link’s storytelling and wisdom instilled in me the value of faith, family, and slowing down to listen during the little moments that make life rich. Their influence is woven into who I am today and I’m so grateful for that.

I’m a wife, a momma of 5, and a homemaker at heart. My husband and I met young, just days after my 18th birthday, and we quickly (like within a week) knew that forever was in our plans.

Together, we built our home on the edge of town, where we’re raising and homeschooling our children while embracing a simple, purposeful life in the city.

Here, you’ll find encouragement for your marriage, practical tips for homemaking, and inspiration to cultivate a home filled with faith and love. Whether you’re looking for a recipe, a fresh perspective, or just a place to feel understood, I hope you’ll stay awhile and explore.

Let’s pursue slightly better together!
